    What this call funds

This call funds demonstration projects that turn woody residues like bark, sawdust and harvesting leftovers into bio-based chemicals and materials, rather than burning them for energy or low-value uses. Projects should show the technology works at meaningful scale, test the resulting products in real end-use applications, and design them so they can be safely and sustainably disposed of or recycled at end of life. Close cooperation with forest owners and cooperatives on sourcing and supply chains is expected.

    Who wins this

A consortium including industrial technology developers, forest-based value chain actors (forest owners, cooperatives), and end-product manufacturers aiming to demonstrate at TRL5-6 novel bio-based chemicals/materials from woody residues.
