What this call funds
This call funds a large collaborative project to build an AI model that predicts whether testing a new drug in a second animal species would actually reveal useful safety information. The goal is to let drug developers skip unnecessary second-species toxicity testing when the AI shows it wouldn't add value, cutting animal use, cost, and development time while keeping patients safe. Winners will build the AI model, a supporting decision framework, and work with regulators to get this approach officially accepted.
