What this call funds
This call provides extra EU funding to continue and expand an existing European partnership that pools national research efforts on nuclear materials. The money supports research into materials and fuels for nuclear reactors, including small modular reactors, and helps fund shared research infrastructure across Europe. It is specifically an extension of an already-funded project, not a fresh open competition.

Conditions 1. Admissibility Conditions: Proposal page limit and layout The page limit of the application is 100 pages. Proposal layout: described in Part B of the Application Form. Other admissibility conditions are described in General Annexes to the Euratom Work Programme 2026-2027, General Conditions, A - Admissibility. 2. Eligible Countries Described in General Annexes to the Euratom Work Programme 2026-2027, General Conditions, B - Eligibility. See the List of Participating Countries in Horizon Europe (including Euratom) for up-to-date information on the current list of and the position for Associated Countries. Please note that as of the date of the publication of this call, Ukraine and Switzerland are the only countries associated to the Euratom Programme, therefore eligible for funding. 3. Other Eligible Conditions The Joint Research Centre (JRC) may participate as member of the consortium selected for funding. The following additional eligibility criteria apply: The proposal must be submitted by the coordinator of the consortium funded under HORIZON-EURATOM-2023-NRT-01-04. This eligibility condition is without prejudice to the possibility to include additional partners. Financial and operational capacity and exclusion Described in General Annexes to the Euratom Work Programme 2026-2027, General Conditions, C — Financial and operational capacity and exclusion. 5a. Legal and financial set-up of the grants This action is intended to be implemented in the form of an amendment of the grant agreement concluded pursuant to HORIZON-EURATOM-2023-NRT-01-04. For the additional activities covered by this action: The funding rate is 55 % of the eligible costs as it reflects the need to establish a fully integrated research Partnership for nuclear materials that makes use of the assets of laboratories and industries all around Europe. Beneficiaries may provide financial support to third parties. The maximum amount to be granted to each third party is EUR 300 000. Financial support provided by the participants to third parties, to support e.g. securing availability of research infrastructures could be part of the activities of the action to be able to achieve its objectives. When implementing financial support to third parties in Co-funded Partnerships, the beneficiaries must avoid any conflict of interest or unequal treatment of applicants[[ Notably through appropriate communication/exchange of information channels and independent and fair complaints procedures.]].
