What this call funds
This call funds research projects that investigate how antibiotic resistance develops and spreads in soils, and how soil microbes naturally produce antibiotics. The goal is to give policymakers and land managers better tools and guidelines to reduce human and animal exposure to resistant bacteria, while also building databases of antibiotic-related genes that could lead to new medicines. Projects should also raise public awareness about the importance of healthy soils for human, animal and environmental health.
