What this call funds
This call funds the physical build-out of digital and supporting infrastructure that lets self-driving vehicles operate on real roads, such as remote-supervision control centre IT systems and digital infrastructure for vehicle positioning and communication with the environment. It is for deploying mature, already-proven technology rather than research, and can include minor road adjustments (like extending merging lanes) if strictly needed to support autonomous vehicle operation. Vehicles, vehicle equipment, and alternative fuel infrastructure are not funded.
