    What this call funds

This call funds research projects that develop and test managed aquifer recharge (MAR) techniques to help farmers store water underground during wet periods and use it during droughts, while protecting groundwater and related ecosystems. Projects should create tools to identify good MAR sites, monitor impacts, calculate costs and benefits, and design business and governance models so farmers and land managers are compensated for hosting these systems. Two case studies in different regions must demonstrate real-world feasibility, and results should inform policymakers on improving agricultural water resilience.
